New Boutique Hotel for Echlin Street
Boutique hotels are small, stylish hotels with a unique selling point and it looks like one is coming to Dublin 8. This 11-bedroom hotel will be located at 15 Echlin Street, at the rear of St. James Church. Unlike many of the new large hotels coming to the Dublin 8 area, this may be a welcome addition as it will add character and bring something a little different to the area.
There is currently a derelict house on the site which would need to be demolished before any construction could begin. This could prove to be a problem as the site is within the curtilage of a protected structure.
The hotel would be 4 storeys high facing Grand Canal Place and 3 storeys (over basement) facing towards Echlin Street. It will have a dining room at ground floor level with kitchen and ancillary services located in the basement.
