One of the main objectives of the Fountain Resource Group when it was conceived back in 1991, was to provide relevant community information and news on upcoming events to the local population here in Dublin 8. We live in quite a highly and densely populated area, which, up until 2013, had no news service operating with a continuous stream of local news specifically for this area.
We here at the Fountain Resource group attempted to fill that void, firstly through our Fountain News newsletter which was widely distributed in paper format, and subsequently through our digital version of Fountain News (which was published in nine issues between November 2010 and Summer 2012). In 2013 we launched our Dublin 8 Newswire, which can be viewed on the homepage of this website, giving the area a much needed continuous, informative and forthright voice.
