St.James’s Hospital commemorates 1916 with events taking place over three days from Friday, the 6th of May until Sunday, the 8th of May, at the Saint James’s Hospital, James’s Street, Dublin 8.

Friday, 6th May – Trinity Centre for Health Sciences

4.30 pm – Unveiling of plaque, Trinity Centre for Health Sciences
5.00 -7.00 p.m. – Seminar: Robert Smith Lecture Theatre
Paul O’Brien – Author of: ‘Uncommon Valour: 1916 & Battle for the South Dublin Union’
Mary Gallagher – Author of: ‘Eamonn Ceannt’ (16 Lives Series)
Cathal MacSwiney Brugha – Grandson of Cathal Brugha

3.00 p.m. – Opening of photographic exhibition, Rialto-Kilmainham 1916 Commemoration Committee

Saturday, 7th May – Trinity Centre for Health Sciences – Robert Smith Lecture Theatre – Evening Session
7.00 p.m. – Readings by relatives of the 1916 Rising, 4th Battalion, South Dublin Union
8.00 p.m. – Concert, Uilleann Piper and Harpist

Sunday, 8th May – St. James’s Hospital

2.30 pm. – Concert, St.James’s Brass and Reed Band
