“Rising in the Union!”
Exhibition starts April 1st to May 7th, 9 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week
• An exhibition chronicling day by day the events of Easter 1916 in the South Dublin Union, the Mendicity, Marrowbone Lane Distillery and the Rialto area. The exhibition will also tell the grander narrative of the Rising
• Replica uniforms, arms, flags for the different revolutionary organisations and photographs will adorn the Hall.
• A movie produced and acted by our local Fountain Youth Project will give real accounts of the action from witness statements gathered.
• The Real Chalice and Ciborium used by all the leaders prior to their execution
• The actual marriage registry containing Joseph Plunkett and Grace Gifford & Eamonn Ceannt and Francis Mary O’Brennan.
• There will be a tour leaving twice daily around the area providing a narrative of what happened where.
