Tunes In The Church

The NYF Dublin Festival will be taking place from the 30th of December to the 1st of January 2017. There will be events held over three days in Dublin city, with shows like the Spectacular Sky Dance at the Custom House, the New Year’s Day Concert on St. Stephen’s Green and many other events taking place around the city.

Dublin 8 will also join the festival. Ré with Tunes will be performed at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Friday the 30th of December. This is a musical performance with traditional singers, flute and fiddle players.

Hothouse Flowers’ Liam Ó Maonlaí, Peter O’Toole and Brendan Begley will join in band, and will deliver “tunes” on stage with the likes of indie-folk musicians, Dublin piper, Maitú Ó Casaíde, and traditional singer and fiddle player, Eithne Ní Chathaín.

Flute player, Gary Hastings, and fiddle player Seamus Quinn are also on the list of musicians bringing us into the New Year. This should be a good warm-up to New Years Eve and is something for the whole family, children are welcome. Tickets are priced at €20 for adults and €12 for children and OAPs, from Ticketmaster.

Other highlights over the three days include a 1916 Rebellion Walking Tour, NYF Dublin Music Trails, A Wish for Dublin on O’Connell Street, a Dublin screening of In Between Silence in Christ Church Cathedral, pop-up events, and many more events.
