Fatima Rocks

On Sunday 15th of May 2016, at the F2 Centre on Ruben Street, Fatima, something new and exciting will be take placing. Fatima Rocks, a music festival by up and coming Irish rock, rap and pop acts.

Kicking off at 1.30 pm with a line up that includes, Conor Hamilton, and the group he leads “Motion Control”, a group is from the Pearse Street area of Dublin, followed by  a three piece group, “AWOL Active”, who only this week featured on your favourite online digital newswire Fountain News, check out that review here.  Then to mix things up a bit, we have some hiphop talent in the form of rap artist Cale Smith. Cale has been very busy working on his new EP “Development”, which he will officially launch at this  music event. Continuing on the hip hop theme, Cale will be followed by the duo  “Newkind”, who are Clayton Cooper, and James Moran.

This event will be videoed for further community music festivals, and our host for the day will be up and coming rap artist, “Top Notch”.

“Mad AB Slim”, another hip hop artist, will be on hand in the hall with signed  copies of his Distraction EP, you can buy this EP from a mere €5.00. By buying his EP, you are helping to promote up and coming Irish musicians.

The theme for this event is to promote Fatima, to promote up and coming Irish musicians and to raise awareness on mental health issues.

There is no cover charge on the door, however, it is advised that people arrive a little early, to avoid long queues.

How Fatima Rock’s came about”

I personally felt that the area of Fatima was becoming far too associated with negative news and required some good old community togetherness to show the city the otherside of Fatima. I set about talking to James Hamilton, who is a music producer and is the father of up and coming Conor Hamilton, about doing some kind of music festival in Fatima. Tina McVeigh a councillor, for PBP, and Damien Farrell a counsellor for Eirigi, also came on board and Fatima Rock’s was born.

Local businesses in the Dublin 8 area came on board to help fund the staging of the event, to whom we are very grateful.

We hope you can join us, and together we can promote Fatima, and Ireland’s up and coming Music scene as well as help raise awareness on mental health issues.

We also have a gofundme page set up on FaceBook, to raise the cash to cover this wonderful free event.
