50 food and drink events throughout Dublin city to Ranelagh.
This year is the 10th Anniversary of the Taste of Dublin festival. Customers will experience delectable food from the most prestigious restaurants in Dublin. Over the course of the four days, people will taste over 50 different varieties of food and drinks. The Taste of Dublin team have also established a new event, Taste City Fusion. This offers Bespoke wining and dining, and Chefs from Michelin starred restaurants who will offer their expertise at Master classes, which will be held in Christchurch Cathedral. There will also be various food events throughout the city.
The chefs exhibiting at Taste
Gavin McDonagh
Gavin is a chef at Brioche Restaurant in Ranelagh. He has worked with two Michelin Starred restaurants, L’Ecrivain and Patrick Guilbauld. He has also worked in France, Germany and the U.K. He is an expert at cooking French cuisine and enjoys creating traditional Irish food. Gavin has won numerous culinary contests and was voted Irish Young Chef of the Year.
Mark Moriarty
Mark created a pop up concept called “The Culinary Counter” with another chef, Ciaran Sweeney. Mark won the San Pellegrino World Young Chef competition.
Ciaran Sweeney
Ciaran created the “Culinary Counter” pop up concept with Mark Moriarty. This entails engaging with the customers and creating an 8 course menu. The Culinary Counter occurs on a monthly basis and tickets can be purchased online.
Kwanghi Chan
Kwanghi has gained experience in both the hotels and restaurants while working with the top chefs in Ireland. He has competed in international culinary competitions and has won many of them. He was awarded a silver medal in the Culinary Olympics in Germany in 2008.
Niall Sabongi
Niall established Rock Lobster and was voted Best Seafood Restaurant in Ireland in 2014. He opened Klaw in Templebar and is the manager of Sustainable Seafood Ireland. This is a wholesale business which sells Irish seafood.
Ross Lewis
Ross is an Irish Michelin chef and co-owner of Chapter One restaurant. He has worked in America and London. Ross is the Commissioner General of Euro Toques. He was also the head chef for the State Banquet when Queen Elizabeth 11 visited Ireland. Taste of Dublin is thrilled to have Ross Lewis as their ambassador this year.
Paul Kelly
Paul is an excellent pastry chef and he is a judge on TV3 the Great Irish Bake Off. On RTE he is worked with Nevin McGuire on Homechef, and on Rachel Allen’s Sweet Things Christmas Special. He has won numerous competitions while representing Ireland for his culinary abilities. He is now a judge for the World Association of Chefs at international events.
Stephen Gibson
Stephen has worked in a Michelin Starred restaurant in France. He has also worked in prominent restaurants in Australia, London and Sweden. In Dublin he was the head chef for L’Ecrivain Restaurant and in 2009 he opened Pichet on Trinity Street.
He was awarded a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide and has been considered one of the top ten chefs in the 2010 Bridgestone Guide.
Sunil Ghai
Sunil is the leading Indian chef in Ireland. He has won many awards for his impressive culinary abilities.
He was named Food and Wine magazine’s Best Chef of the Year 2009, and Best Ethnic Restaurant 2010 by the Restaurant Association of Ireland. He is the Executive Chef at the Jaipur Restaurant Group in Dublin.

Irish Cider – An Expression of Terroir

O’Brien’s Head of Wine Buying, Lynne Coyle will bring you through some of her favourite wines for winter. This includes tasting samples of delicious wine. Lynne is a member of the Champagne Academy and The Institute of Masters of Wine. She is the only female master of wine in the Republic of Ireland.
