Saint Patrick was born in Wales. His real name was Maewyn Succat. Saint Patrick was kidnapped when he was 16 by pirates. They brought him to Ireland. He was a slave for 6 years. He escaped to France and was a priest and became a Bishop.
The pope told him to go back to Ireland to teach people about God. He went to Ireland and taught the people about God and he built loads of churches. He took all the snakes out of Ireland and it was great. St Patrick lived on a mountain called Crough Patrick. He died on the 17th of March. We celebrate Saint Patrick day on that day.
