Nature’s Brushstrokes

Our countryside’s a melodramatic bloom
Pure poetry within Mother Nature room
Of colours from a painters brushes spray
Purely an extravagant harlequin type display
Of Daffodils on margins that flutter in the breeze
And Poppies and Red-Oxide growing gaily at their ease
With Bee Orchids and Red Clover attraction bugs and bees
And Cowslip and Teasel standing on their own so tall
As the Bramble and it’s pink bright flower will lean against a wall
With the Daisy and the Dandelion bringing colour to the Lea’s
And the Gorses yellow glow spreading visions that appease
And the Hawthorn when in blossom graces all our country lanes
The Marsh Marigold and the Bluebell and the seeds the soil sustains
A large and open canvas that is there for all to see
When we delve into our countryside it’s a tranquil place to be
