The celebration of the much-loved Irish wit, writer and satirist returns to St Patrick’s Cathedral later this month.

Starting on Friday the 24th of November and running until Thursday the 30th, the week-long festival promises to be a celebration of the life and works of one of Ireland most renowned authors. Whether you want to get involved in lively debates and thought-provoking discussions, immerse yourself in historical tours or simply just witness some captivating performances inspired by Swift’s work, the festival has you covered with a number of events taking part throughout the week.

The events announced so far include Gulliver’s Travels Family Storytelling, an interactive family workshop led by theatre maker Alice Coghlan. Sounds of Swift, a tour of the treasures within the Cathedral with music from the Vicars Choral of the Cathedrals choir. From the Mouth of Swift, a theatrical tour with actor Damien Devaney exploring St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Swift has a long history with St Patrick’s, not only is he buried there but he was Dean of the Cathedral from 1713 until his death in 1745.
