Thomas ‘Street Fest’ – Urban Art Regeneration Project (July 19-21)

The traders around the Thomas Street area have been busy in recent times attempting to clean up the area, by regenerating buildings and corners of our locality which have fallen into disrepair. As part of this programme, Evolve Urban Art (also see their facebook page) are holding the 1st Thomas Street Fest between the 19th and 21st of July 2013. During that weekend, a large posse of urban artists will be using their skills to improve the appearance of some of the derelict areas around Thomas Street.

This urban regeneration programme is supported by the Thomas Street Business Association, and it will also offer visitors musical entertainment over the July 19-21 weekend, including from a very talented Samba outfit. An event has been created on Facebook. You can sign up here.

As an introduction to the impending Thomas Street Fest, the Evolve Urban Art team have already done some fine work to help brighten up the area over the past week. Three of their artists created work on the 6th/7th of July 2013, which you may have seen, but if not, here are some photos…
