Teeling Whiskey has done pretty outstanding at the 47th International Wine and Spirits Competition. Teeling won seven trophies at this year’s wine and spirit competition as they battled it out with the rest of the world.

The competition, started by wine chemist Anton Massel, was founded in 1969 and was then called the Club Oenologique competition. Its name changed in 1978 to the International Wine & Spirits Competition.

Massel’s idea of choosing a winner for best wine and spirit was to chemically analyse the wine or spirits. This is a worldwide competition and nearly 90 countries participate each year with wines and spirits they have cultivated.

The top 200 winners will get an opportunity to show-off their talents at this year’s annual Spirits Tasting Event that will be held at London’s Vintners Hall.

This year Teeling Whiskey won six trophies, one Gold and six Silver. Scotland cleaned up though and took home with them 427 medals, five trophies and 73 Gold and Gold Outstanding accolades.

Teeling Whiskey won a Gold 2016 for a Poitin – Teeling Whiskey Company – The Spirit of Dublin, a Silver 2016 for Teeling Whiskey 24 Y/O Single Cask, a Silver Outstanding 2016 for their Teeling Whiskey Madeira Single Cask, a Silver 2016 for Teeling Whiskey Revival Single Malt, a Silver 2016 for Teeling Whiskey Single Grain, a Silver 2016 for Teeling Whiskey Single Malt and a Silver Outstanding 2016 for Teelings Whiskey Small Batch Blend.

Well done to Teeling Whiskey!
