Dublin 8 Planning Updates – Week Starting 30/06/14 to 11/07/14

This week’s planning proposals also contains the previous week’s covering the period of 30/06/14 to 11/07/14.  We apologise for the inconvenience of its absence last week.

 

Planning for the building that currently houses a rehearsal studio on James’ Street has been proposed for rebuilding the interior. While the outward structure is protected the inside will be demolished and incorporate new functionality under the proposed plans.  The new building will be a bed and breakfast at the James’ Street entrance.  At the side entrance on Steeven’s Street will give access to new rehearsal rooms, a cafe and office a space on the upper floors.

 

There are further developments proposed for Diageo’s Guinness facilities on Robert Street.  The roasting facilities capacity is to be increased from 21,000 to 28, 000.

 

There is a new pub proposed for the site of what was the “Horse and Jockey” on Emmett Road.  The new development will also provide accommodation for 44 students in single bed studies with shared kitchens as part of 4 storey new structure.

 

Two major developments have been granted extensions in their planning.  These are the proposed senior citizen home on Irwin Street (near Murrays Pub at Bow Bridge) and the new Vicar Street Hotel that will be developed beside the venue.

 

Two Social Housing Exemption Certs have also been granted in the last two weeks.   One on a 5 story development that will house 12 apartments on Newport Street, the other on Francis Street for 1 new additional apartment.
