What are the pressures causing a decline in Ireland’s bees?

Habitat loss, fragmentation and degradation of that habitat – Homelessness!

“A European honey bee (Apis mellifera) extracts nectar from an Aster flower using its proboscis. Tiny hairs covering the bee’s body maintain a slight electrostatic charge, causing pollen from the flower’s anthers to stick to the bee, allowing for pollination when the bee moves on to another flower. One reason that you might want to start a garden is to support bees, to bring a habitat home to the bees of Dublin.ilize the flowers.

dublinbees.org is the web address for the County Dublin Beekeepers Association an organization  there to support anyone interested in making their own honey.
