Homemade Hot Chocolate

I love my hot chocolate on cold days; it makes me feel at home when I am out and about. But when I was just a child I used to make my own on days like today, the rainy and cold ones. This Martha Steward (founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia) recipe for hot chocolate, it is similar to the one I cooked up in my old kitchen.

You will need

3 ½ cups of sugar
2 ¼ cups of cocoa
1 tablespoon table salt
Milk for serving

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine sugar, cocoa and salt, and whisk to combine well. Store the mixture in an airtight container.
  2. For individual servings, pour 1 cup of milk into a microwave-safe mug, and microwave on high just until hot. Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa mix and stir to dissolve. For larger batch of cocoa, warmth milk in a saucepan set over medium-low heat, taking care not to let the milk boil; as it warms, stir in 2 tablespoons of mix for each cup of milk.

Try some marshmallows on top for decoration or a cinnamon stick, it enhances the taste. Enjoy the good weather!
