NCAD Grads Listed For IDI GD Awards
Seven graduates from the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) were shortlisted for the Institute of Designers in Ireland (IDI) Graduate Design Awards. The third year graduates from NCAD were shortlisted for five different categories. The winners will be announced on the 5th November 2015 at 6pm at DIT Grangegorman. The IDI was established in 1972 and has been running the awards since the 1990’s. Categories for this year’s awards include: Animation and Motion Design, Craft and Furniture Design, Digital Design, Fashion Design, Interior Architecture Design, Product or Industrial Design, Textile Design, Universal Design, Visual Communication, Visual Merchandising, The Ove Arup Award in Architecture, Engineering and Design.
The DISRUPT IDI Awards Night 2015 will be held on the 26th November at the Marker Hotel with the evening starting at 7pm until late. Categories for this year’s award include: Making Spaces (interior architecture and spatial design), Moving Image (motion design), Visual Communication (graphic design), Clothing and Covering (designer women’s-wear, menswear, textiles and accessories), Connect and Transform (web, app, game and interactive design), Making Things (consumer, industrial, furniture and craft design), Design Education, ID2015 Special Award for Collaboration, Universal Design and Sustainable Design. There are two new prizes being given this year – the HiMacs Award in Making Things and ID2015 Special Award for Collaboration.
