Away from all its grit

Away from all the killing
Away from evil men

You’ve fought so bravely in your fights time and time again
You pass the pain barrier to reach the end result
And not to recognise that feat is definitely an insult
For the people hold you in their hearts for...
Arms
Arms are what we cuddle with to sympathise a loss
And what we use when working to get credit from our boss
And what we hold our children with to cradle them asleep
And help wipe away a teardrop with when we see somebody weep
But other arms can hurt when they’re in the form of guns
And bombs and rockets...
A Storm called Frank
On a flood soaked plain they tried in vain
To stop the river’s rising high
With sandbags filling weakened banks
As the rain clouds hovered in the sky
The winds they raised to gale-force strength
And the heavens opened wide
The seas became a turbulent force
At the rising of the tide
