Planning-wise, there is only one show in town this week! The big story is that the Teeling Whiskey Company have been granted permission to develop a new distillery in Newmarket, Dublin 8.
We have been invited to an information meeting with the distillery, and we will be sure to report back with all the news about this exciting new venture later this week. If you have any questions that you would like us to ask them, please post a comment below, or email info@frg.ie.
In the meantime, for some background on this story, you can read our October editorial which highlighted the Newmarket company’s quest to redevelop a warehouse into a new micro distillery and tourist centre, back near the Teeling Whiskey Company’s historical Dublin 8 home. The original Teeling company, founded in 1782 by Walter Teeling, was based in Marrowbone Lane.

The only other planning activity this week concerns an amended application by St. Audoen’s National School for a new front entrance, and the granting of permission, on appeal, to change an area which is used as a vehicle lift, into a pharmacy (without methadone dispensing privileges). That application regarded a property on Hanbury Lane, and was submitted by DBM Partners.

DECISIONS (18/11/2013 to 22/11/2013)
APPEALS DECISIONS (18/11/2013 to 22/11/2013)

Here is an interesting additional image, related to the Teeling Whiskey Company’s application: On their Facebook page, the Teeling Whiskey Company describe it as follows… “The historian working with us documenting the Teeling history of distilling in Dublin has uncovered this amazing map of the old Teeling distillery after it had been taken over and expanded by the Roe family. Sorry about the quality but it is over 200 years old!!!”
