This week St Audoens National School, on Cook Street, Dublin 8, have applied to build a new entrance to their pre-school, which includes a new pedestrian gate. The school first opened in 1756, but the current building has been used for the school since 1954. The school is part of a major archeological site, St Audoen’s, with the National School having been originally situated within St. Audoen’s Arch.
Permission has been granted to The Dublin Loft Company to build a five storey apartment block, at 98/99 Francis Street, Dublin 8. The building is set to have a cafe/retail unit on the ground floor, alongside seven apartments in total across the other floors – 3×1 bedroom, 3×2 bedrooms, and a three bedroom apartment. Each appartment will have a balcony, and there will be an ‘extensive’ landscaped garden, aswell as a Japanese garden.
