One large scale development this week for Kilmainham’s Bow Lane area. A six storey, 80 bedroom retirement home will be built on Irwin Street. The site which is across from a large complex of apartments on one side and Murrays pub on the other, has gone unused for several years. This proposal has been accepted by the DCC before and the amendments put forward in this application show that progress is finally being made on the development.
The quiet Bow Lane area is ideal for senior citizens as examplified by the Willie Birmingham place community just down the lane from where the current retirement home will be situated, with the Royal Hospital’s peaceful gardens and Supervalue a stones throw away, I’m sure the residents will be quite be happy with their new home.
