Emmet Farrell was man of the match
A good team effort, a lot of hard work with Anthony De Lacey opening the score with the help of Chad Morrissey corner 1 – 0 to James Utd. Then Liffey Valley came back with two quick goals making it 2 -1 to the home side. Then Dylan O’ Neill made it 2 -2, however, the draw was short lived as Liffey Valley regained the lead. But the tide had already changed and momentum was building behind James United as a clumsy own goal by Liffey Valley followed by a second goal by Dylan O’Neill secured the win for our very own James Utd, Final score 4 – 3 to United with an excellent performance by Emmet Farrell being recognised resulting in him being made “man of the match”

Anthony De Lacy was man of the match
With Christopher Ward starting the match with 2 goals James Utd flew into the lead with 2 – 0. Then with a corner to James Utd, Chad Morrissey given a short pass to Dylan French who passed back to Chad who took the shot to hit the top corner of the goal scoring making it 3- 0 to James Utd. Ten minutes before half time James Heterton wins the ball back and starts a counter attack beating two players along the way, reminiscent of Georgie Best but just missing the crucial finish. Only for Emmet Farrell to finish the play to make it 4 – 0. In the second half, Brodford made an excellent comeback bringing the game tied after 4 quick succession goals ending the Utd whitewash. It was aiming to be a draw but captain De Lacy had other ideas, as he broke with the ball beating 3 players to score the final goal making the final score 5 – 4 to James Utd in what was a dramatic match.
