We are delighted to pass on the fantastic news that our very own resident poet, Alan Finn, has been chosen to take part in a workshop with one of Ireland’s favourite poets.
Clondalkin Library held a competition for all aspiring writers in South County Dublin. Local writers were asked to submit their work, with the prize being a 10 week Creative Writing workshop hosted by Clondalkin native, Colm Keegan, a poet who has been steadily gaining national and international recognition since the early 2000’s.
Writers were asked to submit 500-1000 words of their own creative writing, or 2-3 poems, and needless to say, Alan sent in the latter. He chose 3 poems which have been published on this website over the past few years. Click the following links to read some of Alan’s poems, including the three that he submitted (‘The Hit’, ‘Son, Oh Son’ and ‘To The Outsiders’).

This excellent creative writing workshop commences today (Tuesday October 1st 2013) and runs for 10 weeks, giving all of those involved not only the guidance and advice of an established author and poet – Colm Keegan – but also the support of like-minded writing talent. They will cover areas of writing as diverse as poetry, memoirs, writing for screen and theatre, and plotting a novel.
The rest of us here at the Fountain Resource Group would like to pass on our best wishes to Alan and to all the other workshop participants. Let those creative juices flow!
