Player Wills Factory Open Day
Two open days are to be held at the site of the former Player Wills factory and the Bailey Gibson industrial premises. Invitations have been sent out to locals, community groups and sports clubs, but all are welcome to stop by and have a look around.
The building on the South Circular Road was built in 1935 for Player Wills tobacco and remained in use until 2005 when they moved manufacturing out of Ireland. It is regarded as one of the last remaining high-quality development sites in the city centre and it covers 9.33 hectares. It fell into the hands of NAMA a few years ago but Hines Ireland assumed full ownership of the site before Christmas.
The purpose of the open days is for Hines Ireland to meet the public and listen to their thoughts, opinions and ideas as well as to show their projected timelines for the development and provide people with an insight into the planning application. Members of Hines Ireland’s project team will be present to provide information and answer any questions members of the public have regarding the future of the site.
The open days take place Thursday, July 11th from 12.30pm to 8.00pm and Friday July 12th from 8.00am to 6.00pm.
