National Day of Service 2024
On September 14, 2024, Dublin celebrated National Services Day with a grand parade that highlighted the dedication and bravery of Ireland’s frontline services. The event commenced at 12 PM from the Garden of Remembrance, a symbolic starting point that honors those who have served the nation. The parade made its way through the heart of Dublin, passing iconic landmarks such as O’Connell Street, Trinity College, and Dame Street, before culminating at Dublin Castle.
The parade featured a vibrant display of emergency service vehicles, including fire engines, ambulances, and police cars, all meticulously maintained and gleaming under the autumn sun. At Dublin Castle, from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM, an emergency services display was held. This interactive exhibition allowed the public to meet the crews and see the equipment up close. The display also provided valuable recruitment information for those interested in joining the statutory and voluntary organizations that play such a crucial role in public safety.
