Lord Mayor’s 5 Alive Challenge 2016
As the show states, “Winter is Coming” and for most of us it is the time of the year that we eat more to keep ourselves warm and our willingness to go for walks and get the exercise we need is sometimes something we end up neglecting. Keeping fit all year around especially during the winter months is important and will make it easier for you to get back into that bikini.
The 5 Alive Challenge is a series of road races that will be held in Dublin and is one very positive way of keeping fit this winter. It will definitely improve your health and fitness levels.
An tArdmhéara Criona Ní Dhálaigh stated “The Lord Mayor’s 5 Alive Challenge is a great initiative especially for those at the beginning of their journey to get fitter. This year, I particular call on beginners to join me and take up the challenge. I am starting from scratch and getting up from behind the office desk to try and progress from walking to jogging and running. I am very grateful to the Athletics Clubs and BHAA for their continued support with the Race Series.”
This is a very exclusive Race Series and only 400 places are available, so you will need to register before midday 27th November on http://bit.ly/LM5Alive2016.
“For me, “the Lord Mayors 5 Alive Challenge” was the best New Year’s resolution I ever made, I became involved in a group who offered loads of support and encouragement on race day and all I had to do was cross the finish line,” – previous participant Olive Mulligan.
“What a great initiative the Lord Mayor’s 5 Alive Challenge is. Starting off on New Year’s Day, it gives participants a great opportunity to kick off their New Year resolutions on the right foot. The level of support provided by the organisers and fellow runners is second to none and you can’t help but feel a sense of achievement each time you cross the finish line. The courses are challenging and varied and always good fun. The Challenge keeps runners motivated to keep training and improve their health and fitness in a fun and enjoyable environment” – previous participant Brendan Murphy.
