Yesterday evening (Thursday 17th of July) a large number of people suffered through the intense sun and ran to raise money for St James’ Patients’ Families Facilitates. Admission cost ranged from €21 to €25 pending if one signed up in advance or on the night.
Starting from the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, runners ran up James’/Thomas Street and back through the Liberties, the South Circular Road and finishing in the Royal Hospital. Finally, the reason behind all those mysterious metal barricades has been revealed!
There was music, pre-race warm ups and post-race massages by the hospital’s chartered physiotherapists, FM104 Beetle Bugs and more for the tired competitors. From this observers point of view there was an excellent atmosphere and people really got into the spirit of occasion.
Fair play to all involved, who donated and ran in the heat for this worthy cause!
