This Sunday, in Newmarket Square (off Cork Street), a market that is rich in cultural diversity is taking place. Fusion Sundays is hosted by the Dublin Food Co-op every second Sunday of the month, and is advertised as a ‘World Culture Market’, serving up ethnic handmade products plus music and dance from all around the World. This colorful event is run by the Dublin Food Co-op, a member-owned democratic cooperative of producers, who deal in organic, local, Fairtrade and sustainable products.
Here is how the organisers describe the event: “Fusion Sundays is a world culture market hosted in the Dublin Food Co-op, focusing on the ethnic diversity in Ireland. Fusion Sundays aims to provide a space for people from different ethnic backgrounds to share their cultural diversity and integrate into a wider community. With stalls from around the world, selling a range of handmade goods, arts and crafts, recycled products, jewelery, clothes and food. We will also run various workshops, have live music, dance and activities for children.”
More info can be found on the Dublin Food Co-op website, and on the Fusion Sundays Facebook page.
