Fountain Resource Group Launches New Senior Citizens Service
The Fountain Resource Senior Citizens Group has reopened! The group met up at St James Parish hall last Thursday to trash out the coming season’s activities. The local crowd of about thirty expressed an interest in card games and “Card games it is so” said meeting chairman Tom Brunkard. On top of cards every Tuesday is set to see bingo and raffles with prizes galore in what promises to be a fun filled evening, and looking a little further ahead the Halloween party is set for the 27th of October. Promise not to dress in anything too frightening
Chairperson Mr Brunkard encouraged people to spread the word about a weekly shop for senior people in the area one of many services to be performed by the organisation. The Fountain Resource Group wants senior citizens from all over Dublin 8 to come and partake of its new service. This meeting was only one of many consultations to happen over the coming months as part of the FRG’s continued hope to act as a community centre from those who are alone and infirm.
It’s good to know that at a time when so many services are being cut to the bone that the good folks at the Fountain Resource Group are still fighting the good fight.
