Finally! Weaver Park Here We Come!
On Friday the 24th of June, 2016 development on the Weaver Park will officially begin, marked by a sod-turning at 10.30 a.m.
Weaver Park will become a recreational area with an amphitheatre, a raised lawn, outdoor micro gym, picnic area, play area, seating and a terrace for hangout space.
Local residents had their say in designing the park and attended designer workshops to help design the layout and design.
The park, situated at the junction of Cork Street and Ormond Street, will be opened by the summer of 2017 and work on the development will commence before the end of this year.
Weaver Park is one of the developments that form a part of the Liberties Greening Strategy. For a more in depth article on Weaver Park please go to our David Carr’s interview https://www.frg.ie/local-news/a-peoples-park-the-cork-street-campaign/.
Hi, would it be possible to also have a Dublin Bike station?
That sounds like a brilliant idea Scott!
