Dublin 8 Planning Updates – Week Starting 11/08/14
The big news in this week’s planning updates is that the Office of Public Works have submitted for planning permission for the conversion of Kilmainham Courthouse into a museum. The courthouse has been disused since July 2008. The intention for sometime was to convert the building into a museum linked in with one of the country’s most famous tourist attractions, Kilmainham Gaol.
Part of what is proposed for the site include a cafe and book store with some minor modifications to the outside of the building, presumably to facilitate the greater number of footfall expected with tourists coming to the attraction.
