Three companies from The Digital Hub won awards at Monday night’s 18th Dot IE Net Visionary Awards 2016 that was held at the RDS Concert Hall. The awards were sponsored by the .IE Domain Registry.
Eight Digital Hub companies in total were shortlisted on the 4th of August for the awards. On Monday night 300 nominees attended the Awards ceremony and 18 won awards, recognising their excellence in innovation and entrepreneurship in technology across Social Media, Design and Agriculture.
The award for Overall Net Visionary Winner went to Joan Mulvihill, the CEO of the IIA. “The awards continue to demonstrate the pace and breadth of innovation across Irish industry and exemplify technology as the catalyst for much of this change. Technology is not an industry vertical. It is for all industries, across all sectors.
I’ve no doubt the future Net Visionaries will come from sectors completely unrelated to the traditional technology sector in the coming years,” Joan Mulvihill commented on winning who is stepping down from her position as CEO this year.
The three Digital Hub companies that won awards were Square1.io, Bizimply and Optimal Workshop. Square1.io was awarded Best Web Development Agency for their creative online and mobile software development company.
Bizimply won Best Cloud Service to Optimize Business Performance for their online workforce management application that supports the way restaurants and retail businesses manage and engage with their employees.
Optimal Workshop was awarded the Best International Newcomer – “Welcome to the Neighbourhood” award; they also have an office in Wellington, New Zealand.
