Since the start of this year eight ambitious, expanding digital companies have joined The Digital Hub. The Digital Hub is based in the Liberties D8 area and is an enterprise cluster that caters for growing technology companies in Ireland.
Employing almost 650 people and with 89 established businesses in digital media, technology and internet business they operate from ‘The Grainstore’, a 19th century building. Such is the boom in this sector they plan to add an additional 10,650 square feet to the existing buildings to furnish growth.
Gerry Macken, Chief Executive Officer at The Digital Hub commented on the eight latest arrivals to join the Hub. “We were delighted to welcome eight new companies in what has proved to be a very busy first quarter. Their decision to join the enterprise cluster here is indicative of the ongoing growth and development of the project. There are now almost 650 people working in companies based at The Digital Hub making us the largest cluster of digital media, technology and Internet businesses in Ireland. We’re confident that 2015 will see a marked increase in the success and further growth of the new and existing Digital Hub companies,”
Together the eight new companies are presently employing 17 people. ‘Base2digital’, a multi-disciplinary digital marketing agency based in Dublin is one of the new companies Specialing in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC), which focus on helping companies to get online exposure at targeted audiences, the company now has clients not just in Ireland but across Europe.
Ian Nunoo, the Founder and Director at Base2Digital, said about joining the Hub: “We chose The Digital Hub to locate Base3digital as it is a very much collaborative, creative and supportive environment. As a digital company we were impressed with the success of the initiative they have launched to promote digital across Dublin and Ireland.”
‘Imprez’, who recently moved to the Hub, was founded in 2012 by Joseph Thompson and Niall Dennehy. Imprez focuses on ‘Prezi training’ – a technique to liven up otherwise boring individual or group IT presentations and design. Currently, Imprez is the only presentation company that does this and have so far delivered presentations in more than 50 countries across the globe. About joining The Digital Hub the Co-Founder of Imprez, Niall Dennehy, said: “We chose The Digital Hub for many reasons; we wanted to be surrounded by dynamic companies and individuals for inspiration and invaluable networking opportunities, and we desired modern offices that offered us quick and easy access to state of the art training rooms.”
The Digital Hub provides space for indigenous enterprises and is an environment for innovative enterprises to grow and expand. Major international companies like Boomerang and Eventbrite have put up headquarters at the Hub and industry organisations such as the Irish Internet Association and Silicon Republic also operate from here. The Digital Hub has so far created thousands of skilled jobs and close to 200 companies has come, gone and moved on to bigger things. Amazon, Distilled Media Group (Daft.ie), MMT and Riverdeep, to mention just a few, are success stories of successful enterprises.
The new companies that have joined the Hub are Castle Direct (a designing and building marketing system that specialises in online and offline response and automated sales); Legion (a company that designs and develops native mobile apps for iOS and Android); My Beatz (an online music community to share and connect music); NumberGroup (provides telecom services to SME businesses all over the world); Statwolf (in-house data mining expert – aims at configurations for dashboard interfaces and user views); Tyndall National Institute (one of Europe’s leading research centres in information and Communications Technology (ICT) hardware and systems); Base2digital (improves and incorporates Search Engine Optimisation and Pay Per Click for online businesses) and Imprez (Prezi training and design).
