Designblok Showcase at Teeling Whiskey Distillery
An exhibition at the Teeling Whiskey Distillery is now open to the public called the “Designblok Showcase”, an art collection to be showcased for two weeks. The selection of art pieces has been designed by Czech producers and manufacturers and inspired by Czech culture and domestic design. Every October in Prague, designers from Central Europe come together for one of the biggest festivals of art and design where Czech culture is celebrated and exhibited. The exhibition will take place on the 9th October exhibiting the works of artists who will also show off their work at the Design Festival called Designblok, to collaborate with the October Designblok festival in Prague.
“We are delighted to welcome the Designblok Selection to the Teeling Whiskey Distillery. The distillery has attracted a fantastic volume of visitors from the Czech Republic since opening in June and we are proud to introduce such strong elements of Czech culture to the community through this showcase,” founder and managing director of the Teeling Distillery, Jack Teeling said.
Very well-known European Designers like Jakub Berdych, Lugi, Jan Capek, Dechem and Boda Horak, to mention only a few, have worked on this selection. The collection consists of furniture and furnishing accessories and other interior art, with interior manufacturers Bomma and Pirsc Porcelain contributing to the exhibition. There is plenty of glass and porcelain to be viewed, Czech art fields that are always in demand and their speciality.
