With less than one week to go who is going to be crowned King, or indeed Queen of the Starz’s competition? After months of hard work for all the acts and the judges, it’s crunch time.
Top Notch as you may be aware, is a rap and hip hop artist and is in the finals after being saved with a wild card vote. Last Friday 11th October, Top Notch and I sat down for Coffee to discuss the possibilities of the finals. Top Notch may be making history already as she is the first rap and hip hop artist to have made it to the finals. Her debut single “A Device” is already gathering momentum on You Tube. The video was shot in and around the Dublin 8 areas. I asked Top Notch how she was feeling about being at this stage. She is “dead excited” to be back in for a chance of scooping the top prize of €5.000 and the possibility of getting to work with people from the music industry. I asked her if she could dish out some advice to young fans she said “always be truthful to yourself”.
Top Notch recently won a public vote to appear on 93.9 FM (also ran by Starz’s music promotions) and had her new track “A Device” played live on air. Top Notch feels she has matured as a performer over the time she has been involved with the show. She feels any time she goes on to any stage it’s her stage and she will deliver. “I am after being part of this competition for the last eight months and I know I am up against very good performers, including various groups (The Klares and Rise) who were featured on this news wire recently”.
Top Notch would like to thank all her fans who have been “Just great” to her and all the people she got to work with over this 8 month period. She can’t wait until October the 19th to try do herself proud and take home the one and only top prize.
