MusicTown

Now in its third year, MusicTown celebrates the rich music heritage and contemporary artistic lifeblood of Dublin City, one of the world’s most musical cities. Pilgrim Paths Week

Pilgrimage has been defined as “a meaningful journey to a place of spiritual significance” and the practice is almost as old as recorded history. In Ireland the pilgrim journey has strong historic resonance with early Christian scholars coming to Clonmacnoise; medieval penitents journeying to Lough Derg, and Glendalough, while others sought heightened spirituality by visiting Skellig Michael or climbing Croagh Patrick.

BD Festival

Racing Home Mallow Festival

West Waterford Festival of Food

Irish Surfing Festival

Now in its fifth year, the festival sold out all shows in its first three years at the Light House Cinema in Dublin before moving west to Sligo, the natural home of surfing. In 2017, the festival returns to Sligo Along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, This stretch of coastline is a mecca for surfers and creatives, home to some of Ireland’s biggest waves including Mullaghmore and a flourishing surf community in Strandhill. It is a home to the creatives who have chosen to live their lives on this dramatic and unfolding Northwesterly edge of Ireland.

Connemarathon

The Connemara International Marathon is one of the world’s most scenic events, set in the dramatic scenery of the west of Ireland. 2017 will mark its sixteenth year in running, growing in numbers each year from 73 runners to our sell out point, in excess of 3,000 runners.

Cork International Choral Festival

JestFest

Sligo International Chamber Music Festival

Kilkenny Roots Festival

Since 1998 the festival has attracted some of the finest names in the Americana/Roots canon, including Calexico, Giant Sand, Ryan Adams, Alejandro Escovedo, Guy Clark, Chuck Prophet, Ray LaMontagne, Richmond Fontaine, Rodney Crowell, Phosphorescent, Sturgill Simpson and Alabama Shakes. Audiences wind their way through the medieval streets sampling the huge range of music in the 30 plus venues, hosting over 40 Irish and international acts, with over 90 ticketed and free shows from early afternoon until late into the night. There’s a mixture of old and new acts on the free pub gig trail and all styles are catered for, from swing to bluegrass, rockabilly to cajun, folk, blues and beyond.

City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival

The festival, now in its 16th year will offer music lovers a fantastic programme of live music between 27th April and 1st May and is one of the region’s most anticipated and talked about social events of the year. We will welcome back a number of festival favourites and welcome for the first time, a variety of hotly tipped Jazz acts from across the globe. Organised by Derry City and Strabane District Council, the Jazz Festival features live music acts at over 70 venues and featuring over 200 musical acts during the Bank Holiday weekend.

Bright Lights Tag Festival

Bright Lights Tag festival is a new pre-summer season tag festival established with the aim of raising awareness and donations for both Aware and Pieta House. Bipolar disorder, depression and suicide are effecting more and more families and following the sad and unexpected passing of our close friend Stephen Lucey in December 2016, a group of his friends wanted to raise awareness and help others in similar circumstances.
