It’s Culture Night Again!! Tonight from 6 pm on Free Events all through Dublin.
Culture Night is an annual all-island public event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts. On Culture Night, arts and cultural organisations and venues of all shapes and sizes, including the big National Cultural Institutions, extend their opening hours to allow for increased visits. Special and unique events and workshops are specifically programmed at participating locations and everything is available free of charge. Even better there are free buses to take you around the city to the different events.
A wonderful atmosphere is found in Dublin on the night, no matter what the weather is.
The Liberties (in it’s broadest borders) is one of the key areas and on offer are big events (some of which have been booked out already like the Guinness’s tour). So far our newest cultural(?) venue, Pearse Lyons Distillery, has some places on their tour. (I can personally recommend it). Check out https://culturenight.ie/events/?location=89&genre=&startTime= for the Liberties and Historic Quarter listings.
Some events need to be booked, others you can turn up to on the night.
But don’t be limited in your sites to just our neighbourhood. This could be a great time to explore the further corners of our city and Dublin bus have a number of shuttle routes taking Culture Night trekkers.
Route C goes through Thomas Street, by Guinness Storehouse to Military Rd, Collins Barracks, Smithfield Square, Arran Quay, Custom House to Arran Quay. It will be a great way to start your culture night journey right on our doorstep.
