Christmas Fairs in Dublin 8 in early December.
There are two Christmas fairs in Dublin 8 in early December with which you can kick off your festive season. They both promise a lot in terms of gift-buying and dining opportunities and the Richmond Barracks Christmas Fair will also have a full program of entertainment, interactive workshops and tours.
The Richmond Barracks Christmas Fair.
The Richmond Barracks Christmas Fair in Inchicore, Dublin 8 takes place on December 2nd and 3rd from 11am until 5pm and entrance is free. It is suitable for the whole family with fun, interactive festive workshops, live music and singing events and stalls where you can buy Christmas gifts, food and arts and crafts. There will also be a wide selection of dining opportunities, including festive food and there will be a variety of food trucks.
One of the vendors at the market will be the FoodCloud Kitchen which will be serving hot food. The FoodCloud Kitchen uses surplus food to prepare hot, tasty meals and uses its profits to invest into its activities or in redistributing surplus food to over 600 community and voluntary organizations across the country.
There will be also be live music and dance performances along with creative workshops which are suitable for all ages, such as Christmas decoration making. No pre-booking is required for these workshops and all workshops will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. There are also guided walking tours of Goldenbridge Cemetery and a Richmond Barracks to Kilmainham Gaol walking tour. These walking tours are also free but you need to book your place in advance on the Richmond Barracks Christmas fair website.
Inchicore Library will also be open on both days and will have special events and a Christmas story time for young people,

Ivy Lane Cakes, selling Christmas puddings and cakes, Christmas themed cupcakes and cookies.
Jiminy Eco Toys, selling backpacks and toys which are made from recycled materials and hand-made wooden toys.
Corleggy Cheeses, selling handcrafted soft and hard cheeses made from raw goat’s, sheep’s and cow’s milk,

The Fumbally Christmas Market.
Another Christmas market in Dublin 8 is the Fumbally Christmas Market at the Fumbally Stables, Fumbally lane which is being held on the 6th, 7th and 8th of December this year. The opening hours are: Friday 6th December, 12-7pm, Saturday 7th December, 10am- 6.00pm and Sunday 8th of December 12.00-6pm.
It’s an indoor event and there will be stalls selling goods from handmade knitwear to local honey, all of which make unique gifts. Some of the independent artists, crafters, and traders which will be at the market include.
d8makers which make Irish crafts such as hand-printed designs on 100% linen, glasswork and woodwork and handcrafted notebooks.
Braw, a Limerick chocolatier, who will have a range of chocolate bars, truffles and other sweet treats.
Kybalion: A Dublin-based designer and jewellery artist who makes and sells hand-made, one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces.
Dublin Honey Bee Project:
Sells heather honey harvested by the Dublin Honeybee Project, whose bees collect nectar from the heather which is in flower in the Dublin Mountains in August. This heather honey has reputedly more health benefits than Manuka honey.
Open Hive Honey: OpenHive Honey rears and breeds Irish black honeybees and sells locally-produced Irish honey. Among their products on sale at this year’s market will be summer blossom honey and heather honey.
Seaneadai: Sells vintage clothing such as woollen knitwear and tailoring which is made of natural fibers such as wool and linen which have been collected from around Ireland.
