Weekly Dublin 8 Planning Updates – Week 46, 2013

The only new commercial planning application in Dublin 8 this week is from the Emerald Waste Company, who would like to add a portable waste compactor to their Inchicore premises, at the Goldenbridge Industrial Estate.

However, there were some notable decisions made, including permission to redevelop some ground floor retail units in the Clancy Quay apartment complex (South Circular Road, Islandbridge), into apartments. According to the property manager in charge of the development, there are three of those units to be converted, although the DCC planning update – outlined below – does appear to mention four.

Also at Clancy Quay, another ground floor retail unit is to be transformed into a gym for residents, and the sites for two proposed new blocks are to be redeveloped into 15 temporary car parking spaces.

Additional information has been sought relating to the demolition of a car repair shop on Rosedale Terrace, to make way for two semi-detached houses, and an extension has been denied for a development within the Digital Hub campus. The Thomas Street/Crane Street development was to cover almost 10,000 sq/m, and was to consist of office space, retail space, a pub and three apartments.
