Open Day In The Youth Project – Sam Maguire Visits!

This year saw the 5th anniversary of the Fountain Youth Project. We celebrated it with an open day for young and slightly older alike. The members themselves, kitted out in Fountain Youth Project t-shirts, provided hot food and a great atmosphere for all the visitors.

Photos adorned the walls of the youth project displaying the various activities the kids had been up to throughout the year. It was a great opportunity for the parents to not only see the hard work of youth project team but to look on with pride at their kids achievements.

The Open Day also had a special guest, the legendary Sam Maguire cup made its way through the youth project halls and everybody got in for a few snaps with the most famous piece of silverware on this island.

Finally, those who had successfully completed the “Copping on” programme, a course designed to teach young people important life skills, received a certificate in recognition of their hard work throughout the year, presented (and with thanks from all here at the FRG) by Inspector Declan Downey.
