Yazz was recently snapped with Kasey one of the girls from the Irish pop group, Wonderland, who Yazz hopes to get a chance to work with, if she does well in the final.
Local girl Arezu Tabarsi (aka Yazz) has been hitting the right notes recently since she entered a competition hosted by the Starz music promoters, and staged at the Vanilla night club in Donnybrook in Dublin 4. Next Saturday, the 18th of May, she will be performing again, this time in Lilly Bordello’s night club in Grafton Street.
Yazz is a Rap artist and is performing two tracks – one she penned herself and the other she co-wrote with a friend. Recently I caught up with the girl who is living in Rathmines to have a little chat with her about the competition. She informed me twice she was knocked out of this competition and twice she got back in, once with the highest public votes, and another Judges are calling a wild Card vote.
The Judges who are judging this competition are well known Irish singers, TV Presenters, and people who work in this tough business. Yazz is calling out for people including her fan base to come to the club next Saturday and show their support to her. Regardless of the outcome of this competition, Yazz has plans to work with youngsters who are showing an interest in Rap music and in how to write and record their own music.
She tells me that there is a huge following to her style of music out there, but feels there is not enough places outside to help these kids who wish to advance further. Its ideal to keep them busy and divert them away from crime, or even drugs. It will give the kids something positive to do and they can put all of their energy in to it. Rap music is on the rise here in Ireland all who are involved with this style of music have no financial backing what’s so ever, and they have to pay for their own beat in a recording studio if you have a job or not.
If you haven’t already seen Yazz perform why not go to Lillie’s Bordello’s night Club on 18th May, from 7pm to 9pm. Admission costs €10.00 Per Adult or €5.00 per child, and all who pay in can vote for their act to win. I have been to the last two heats in Donnybrook and it’s well worth the tenner in. It’s like a mini X-Factor and its very entertaining.

hello just to put you up to date with Yazz’s Performance. Last Saturday 22nd, June Yazz battled against 19 other acts. 10 Acts got through in Lilly bordellos Night club in Grafton Street here in Dublin and Proudly Yazz was one of those 10 that got through.
