Liberties Fun Run 2022 – Shane Adlum has the insight track on this fun charity event (couldn’t resist)
It’s time to dust off those runners and pull out that pair of running shorts from the back of your closet. The 14th annual Liberties fun run has been announced.
The event, which is organised by St. James’s Hospital Foundation, is due to take place on Sunday, 4th September. This gives you plenty of time to train and get in shape for the 4-mile timed road race which attracts over 1500 participants every year.
The race starts and finishes on the grounds of the Irish Royal Hospital Kilmainham with a starting time of 10:30am. The route takes in some of the most iconic sights around the Liberties such as St James’s Gate, Francis Street and the Coombe, which you can check out as you run past (or as you stop to catch your breath). Anybody who runs the race will receive a technical running top and a souvenir medal for their efforts.
Online registration is now open at http://runtheliberties.ie/ and starts from €25 or free if you are willing to fundraise (provided you hit the minimum target of €100). All proceeds from the event will go towards improving patient care at St. James’s Hospital.
