Five New Companies Join The Digital Hub Team
The Digital Hub is located at the old ‘Grainstore’ of what was Roe’s Distillery, which is currently under refurbishment and is planned to open later this year. Based in the Liberties area, the 19th century building will add a further 10,650 square feet of office space for the use of Ireland’s biggest group of digital media, technology and Internet businesses.
Recently, five new technology companies joined the Digital Hub team and will provide a further 41 jobs. The first quarter of the year saw eight new companies joining the Digital Hub, employing 17 new software techies and it is, of course, positive news to see that there is further expansion in this half of the year.
Presently, there are almost 90 businesses operating from the Digital Hub, who employ nearly 650 people at present. The companies that are mostly indigenous enterprises and close to 200 companies have come and gone since The Digital Hub first opened its doors to technological and digitally focused businesses in its city centre location – creating thousands of skilled jobs for those in the field of software technology.

The five new companies joining the Digital Hub are Slack, Digital Strategy Consultants, MyFamilyKey.com, Tenego Partnering and Square1. The COO of one of the new companies, Square1, Diego Solorzano, said: “The two key things for us in choosing The Digital Hub were its central location and brand recognition. Being located in the city centre means we’re close to a number of our existing clients, and identifying ourselves as a “Digital Hub company” when talking to new clients is also a big plus. Even when the clients aren’t too familiar with the tech industry, they’ve typically heard of The Digital Hub and some of the more notable alumni, so it’s helpful in opening doors that way.”
Slack is a business app that allows for a messaging and a search platform in “one place” and was launched in February 2014. Their head office is based in San Francisco and opened their Dublin office in May 2015. They have plans to employ a hundred new employees within the next two years.
Digital Strategy Consultants was founded by Eamonn O’Raghallaigh in 2012 and is an Irish company that specifically focuses on online marketing. Eamonn is a digital marketing consultant with a wealth of experience who works at empowering organisations with best practice in digital strategy.
MyFamilyKey.com is a genealogy content site and will be launched later this year. The site will allow users to find information on genealogy, down load free software to build Family Trees using information from social media and will also offer a wide range of other ways to enjoy genealogy.
Tenego Partnering is an international company and manages Sales Channel Development for established technology companies across the world, bridging the gap so to speak. Square1 is a creative online and mobile software development company and is focused on building high-traffic websites. Some of their clientele includes TheJournal.ie, Rory McIIroy, Daft.ie and the Irish Government.
The Digital Hub is a hive of activity at the moment with its recent expansions but with new companies joining its campus and with new premises being developed all along Thomas Street. Stay tuned for more updates and some of their bigger developments in the coming weeks!
