CE and Welfare Payments for Rehab Projects

Social Welfare

CE is one of the key components of the delivery of the national rehabilitation strategies in the absence of an alternative day programme modal of rehabilitation so what stops people getting a CE scheme?

I attended a meeting at Inchicore Community Hall today to find out what’s going on & what the truth is about double payments, will people lose theirs?

At present anyone in a CE scheme on disability allowance will not lose any of their payment. Lone parents will lose only one thing out of their payment & that will mean you can only get paid once for any child you have you won’t get two payments for your children. Anyone who starts after 16th January 2012 that is on disability will be on one payment they will be able to keep the Household package that will not be touched Ex: Bus pass, ESB unit’s and phone.

Also when you finish your CE scheme if you were on disability allowance you will be able to go straight back on it if at the end of your course you don’t get full time employment. As you will be dealing with only one person & they will work with you so you won’t have to wait too long to get your payment back.
