With the end of the Starz competion looming, its now time for all the final acts to pull off their best performances yet.

Recently featured in your favorite online newswire, FRG.ie, we wrote a piece on the Starz progress, and we also did a number of interviews with a couple of the acts. Today we introduce another up and coming four piece group from Dublin – Rise.

Rise, from Santry and Finglas consists of four members who include; Keith Moran – lead vocalist, his brother Keiran – rhythm guaitar and backing singer, Richard Roberston – bass, and drummer Lee Frayme.

Rise were pieced together only recently, from a number of different groups around Dublin City. Keith – the lead vocalist – along with his brother Keiran, moved from Smithfield to Finglas, here in our wonderful city of Dublin. He and the other members of their former band, No Angels, felt it was time to focus on family and life issues and it was decided that all members needed to do solo projects; just as well, we now have a great group “Rise”!!!

Rise preformed an Aslan cover “Crazy World “, at the Vanilla Nightclub last month bagging themselves a place in the semi final later this month in Liberty hall.

The bands main strength lies in their ability to get a crowd up on their feet from their very first song. While Rise do a number of covers they have originality and creativity within them. Their recently released original tracks entitled ‘Turning in to you’ and ‘Mind Games’ are gaining a lot of momentum on Youtube.

Asked about how they got their name, lead singer Keith said “We got the name Rise from our inspiration, that inspiration is we want to rise over what ever objects get in our way”. I also asked him what advice could Rise give to other young up and coming groups from Dublin, Keith replied “Never give up and always push on.”

Rise have gained a reputation of being good solid performers throughout the Starz competition. They hope to build on this success and snatch the top prize in Liberty Hall, later this month.

Everyone here at FRG.ie wish Rise and all of the acts the very best of luck in the competition and the future.
