October Mental Health and Wellbeing Fair 2016

St. Patrick’s University will be having their final Mental Health and Wellbeing Fair in Galway’s Galway Bay Hotel on the 22nd of October 2016 for this year.

This is the third and final fair in the series presented by the Walk In My Shoes Campaign.

The day will be about informing the public, patients and family members with mental health problems about ways to cope and also advise them on how to seek help and find supportive networks.

There will be information stalls of different organisations who work for promoting mental health and wellbeing handing out information and leaflets.

Workshops throughout the day will give guests the opportunity to join in and part-take; these workshops are fun to attend and will lift your mood.

There will be a drumming sessions, Laughter Yoga classes, Zumba dance classes and much more.

Organisations like Shine, YES, Samaritans, Get Ireland Walking and the Dean Clinic Dublin will be there again with advice givers at their information stalls; these stalls are exciting to visit and there is always a freebie to pick-up, so don’t forget to ask those questions.

“Our objective is to educate and inform the public about mental health with a particular focus on Wellness. We held our first in Cork on the 6th February, followed by a second Fair in Dublin on May 21st.

Our third and final Fair of 2016 will be held in the Galway Bay Hotel on Saturday October 22nd from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Fair will host a number of exhibitions from local and national service providers, a programme of workshops in mindfulness, yoga, laughter yoga, zumba and music, and a range of talks from mental health experts and advocates scheduled between 2-3 p.m.”
