NCAD Ranked Among Top 100

The National College of Art and Design is back in top form this year. The QS World University Rankings by subject figures were released last week and NCAD was ranked among the top 100 in the world. The Dublin 8 art and design college ranked #51 for Art and Design. The closest figure for the number of universities in the world, according to the World Web for Universities in July 2015 is 23 729, so this quite an achievement.

“We are delighted that the College has been ranked among the top 100 art and design colleges in the world. It really is a great achievement that a small independent art college should achieve this level of recognition internationally and it is a real tribute to the quality of our students and the commitment of our academic staff,” new Acting Director of the College, Bernard Hanratty said.

“Creative skills are in high demand from leading global employers because creative graduates add value at the highest levels of industry. Creative graduates have a key role to play in adding value to both the economy and to Irish society.”

NCDA ranked #51 in the top 100 for Art and Design Colleges in 2015. NCDA is the only Irish college to feature on the list for Art and Design. There were 27 European universities on the top 100 list and NCAD was listed at #17. Trinity College Dublin ranked #31 for Performing Arts and #32 for English Language and Literature. Dublin City University was voted #151 for Modern Languages.
