If Ireland can be credited for one decent thing and that is music. We have seen countless of talented artists emerge from Ireland and headline on stages across the world. Meet Evil Empire. This five piece band is made up of Aarron Hamilton (vocals), David Boucher (bass guitar), Cathal Luddy (drums), Andrew Neville (rhythm guitar) and Daniel Fox (lead guitar). I have seen Evil Empire preform at a few gigs and only recently when they supported Ballroom Blitz at Whelans. I also recently had the pleasure to attend one of their weekly rehearsals. The lads certainly have their own unique style and know how to put on a great show.
Evil Empire, who have only been together 2 and a half years and their future is already looking bright. Only very recently they won a heat in a competition against 7 other acts. They are now sailing through to the next stages of the band battle, which will be held at the The King Kon Club. The band with the most clapping & cheering wins. Its a simple as that.
Evil Empire are influenced by various bands and artists with The Arctic Monkeys being one of their major inspirations. The Group are already writing and recording their own material, songs such as Flower Bomb & Suburbia are personal favorites of mine.
I asked the lads where they would like to see themselves in 5 years from now: “We would like to be doing festivals and have at least a couple of albums”.
