Dublin Pride Parade 2017

The Parade will be taking place this year on June 24th 2017. Participants will gather from 11am and the parade begins at 2pm sharp.

This year the parade route will be different, due to an on going construction with the Luas Cross City Project. We will be assembling at St. Stephens Green South (with on stage entertainment  and speeches from 12 noon) before starting the parade at 2pm sharp. At the parade endpoint in Smithfield we will have a huge amount of entertainment with music, drag acts and speeches. There will be a number of floats and stands with food and bar services within in Smithfield Square.

About The Parade

Following the Stonewall riots in New York City in 1969, a resolution was passed by the Eastern Conference of Homophile Organisations in Philadelphia on the 2nd of November 1969.

“That a demonstration be held annually on the last day of June” and that it would “encompass the ideas and ideals of the larger struggle that we are engaged in – that of our fundamental human rights”

The Pride Parade is always a highlight of our annual festival. It is an opportunity for us to march in solidarity and hear the power of our voices combined. It is also a chance for us to celebrate, to celebrate ourselves , our diversity, our achievements and our friends. Admission to the Pride Parade is free for individuals and community groups that support the ideals and principles of Pride, though registration is required for all groups taking part.
